This easy-to-make cherry pizza is a delicious and sweet twist on a classic Italian dish. It is made with juicy cherries, almond cream and topped with flaked almonds. It is just perfect to finish off your summer entertaining party.

  • 7 oz. (200 g) pizza dough (homemade or store-bought)
  • 14.1 oz. (400 g) cherries
  • 1/2 whole egg
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon (25 g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 1/2 tablespoons (35 g) icing (powdered) sugar
  • 4 tablespoons (25 g) almond flour
  • 1/2 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 oz. (30 g) flaked almonds

* If needed, please refer to Baking Conversion Charts.

  1. Preheat the oven to 475 degrees F/245 degrees C and place a pizza stone on the middle rack. Heat it an additional 10 to 15 minutes to ensure the stone is well heated (do not remove it from the oven).
  2. Wash, pit, and cut cherries in half. In a mixing bowl, place the softened butter, icing (powdered) sugar, half of the egg, almond flour, and all-purpose flour and mix with a rubber spatula.
  3. Roll out the dough on a well-floured work surface, giving it a round shape about 10-inch/25 cm in diameter and about 3 mm thick.
  4. Transfer the dough onto a well-floured metal pizza peel. Spread the almond mixture on the pizza dough, leaving about 1/3-inch/1 cm around the edge. Arrange cherries on top, slightly pressing them down. Sprinkle the pizza with the flaked almonds.
  5. Carefully slide the pizza from the pizza peel onto the pizza stone in the oven. Cook for 10 to 15 minutes. Use the peel, remove the pizza from the oven, slice it, and immediately enjoy it.
