What is a fluid ounce?

A fluid ounce (abbreviated as fl oz) is a measure of volume in the United States customary and Imperial systems. It is used to measure liquid ingredients, sometimes referred to as wet ingredients.

US fluid ounce equals 1/128 US gallon, 1/32 US quart, 1/16 US pint, ⅛ US cup, 2 US tablespoons, or 6 US teaspoons.

Imperial fluid ounce equals 0.00625 Imperial gallon, 1/40 Imperial quart, 1/20 Imperial pint, 1/10 Imperial cup, 1.6 Imperial tablespoons, or 4.8 Imperial teaspoons.

You shouldn't confuse two types of ounces: fluid ounces and dry ounces (also known as weight ounces), which are used to measure dry ingredients.

Thus, a rough estimate is that 1 liter is approximately equal to 34 fluid ounces.

How many Imperial fluid ounces are in a liter?

1 liter = 35.1951 fl oz Imperial (Imperial system), so 35.1951 Imperial fluid ounces are in a liter.
